Market for foodies – Borough Market
Hello my dear foodies!
A few days ago, G and I wanted to get some real good food to cook home, something like Whole Food but fun.
Since I moved to London I heard a lot about Borough Market and never get to try it out. So we headed there, being as brave as possible as it was freezing!
First advice, if weather sucks please wear really warm clothes or you’ll change to an ice-cube.
Second advice, go to Borough Market feeling a bit hungry but not in a state of starvation (as we did). Feeling a bit hungry will let you taste little bites of everything but being starving will make you burn the closest cash point to get as much money as possible to buy the whole market.
Borough Market is a mixture of street food and beautiful food stalls. You will find everything: vegetables, meat, fish, bread, cheese, turkish delicatessen, dry meat, oil, truffles, …
I have been told that famous restaurants in London buy their merchandise on Borough Market. So imagine the quality! Nom nom nom.
The full market is open from Thursday to Saturday. But you can go there for a marvellous lunch from Monday to Wednesday.
It is perfect to get special cheeses and good fish. And certainly for a nice power-walk before eating! Go with your boyfriend/girlfriend or flatmate, or if you don’t live in London definitely go have a taste!
And if you don’t know where to eat, and are craving for those poor delicious little underwater living things, check out my post about Fish!restaurant here.
