Cheap and Tasty Thai Food in Notting Hill
Less than two minutes walk from my flat I found an incredible Thai food restaurant.
After a partying night G and I didn’t woke up feeling as having brunch for the first time ever. We were craving for something different. So we headed to Portobello road to let it inspire us. Of course we didn’t get too far as when we arrived on Portobello we were just in front of The Market Thai and happily climbed the stairs to enjoy a nice hot meal.
The place is beautiful, with wooden structures making it looks like an old temple somewhere in the middle of Thailand. Huge candles in every corner and authentic Thai owners and staff. I love it! You always know you will eat real Asian food if the staff is from there, it feels way more authentic. The staff is really warm and friendly! Smiling and laughing. Perfect to be in a good mood!
Everytime I go there the food is very tasty. I love their Soups and their Ginger and Honey tea.
If you are craving for soup too, take the Noodle ones, they are bigger and will fulfill your hunger. Every meal is very colorful, with plenty of ingredients and spices.
And for spicy food lovers, you won’t be disappointed, you can ask for extra-spice with any (already) spicy dish!
If you are walking down Portobello Road, enjoying the market or just close to Notting Hill I will recommend you to stop by The Market Thai and enjoy a nice meal while drinking a fresh hot tea! It is really cheap and have good quality food!
Enjoy!
The Market Thai

The restaurant looks so pretty! They did a great job on the décor. What exactly is that first dish?
That first dish is amazing! I wish I knew how to make it so I could eat it everyday. It’s called Kanompang Nar Goong and it is prawn toast with sesame seeds. Delicious!
It’s really fluffy and crispy at the same time!
